2匹の百足 (ムカデ) と赤い彼岸花が咲いているデザインです。

ムカデは不気味な姿形、毒を持った害虫としての側面など、あまりイメージがよくありませんが、鉱山や鉱脈を司どる神の使いとして古くから信仰の対象とされてきた歴史があるみたいです。 脚の多いムカデは鉱山にとっても 「御足が集まる」 縁起の良い生き物であるとされたみたいです。
また、 ムカデは虎とともに七福神の「毘沙門天」のお使い(神使)でもあります。ムカデを見かけたら運気が上昇してくるとも言われてます。色々と調べてみるとムカデって縁起がいい生き物だったんですね。
家とかで見つけると足が沢山あるし、姿もグロテスクなのと、 毒をもっているのでつい「ギャー」と嫌な気持ちになっていましたが、これからは違った気持ちでムカデを見れるかもしれません。 出会えると幸運なんだなと思うと、家等でムカデを見つけても全然違ってきますね。

ムカデは沢山の脚をもっていながら、前に前にと進み、後退しないということから勇ましいともされてきま した。

彼岸花の花言葉には 「情熱」「再会」「独立」 などがあります。
墓地によく咲く事から、 彼岸花は別名、 幽霊花(ゆうれいばな)、 地獄花(じごくばな)と呼ばれる事もあります。
彼岸花は怖い別名が多いのですがその反面、 めでたい前兆と言われる、 曼珠沙華(まんじゅしゃげ)と呼ばれる別名もあります。 曼珠沙華 (まんじゅしゃげ) という別名は、サンスクリット語で天界に咲く花という意味みたいです。 仏教の経典ではめでたいことが起こる前触れとして天から赤い花が降ってくるとされているそうです。縁起がいいですね。
